Memberships Overview

Membership is established by acceptance of a nomination from a Member of the association. There are three main categories of membership, member, associate member and corporate member. To establish which membership you or your organisation are eligible for please note the following definitions:

• Member:

A natural person currently holding the position of Municipal Building Surveyor who is nominated and approved for membership as provided in the Rules of the Victorian Municipal Building Surveyors Group Incorporated is eligible to be a member of the Association on payment of the entrance fee and annual subscription payable under the Rules.

• Associate Member:

A natural person who is nominated and approved for associate membership as provided in the Rules of the Victorian Municipal Building Surveyors Group Incorporated and who is able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Committee a professional interest in the purposes of the Association, is eligible to be an associate member of the Association on payment of the entrance fee and annual subscription payable under the Rules.

• Corporate Member:

An organisation that is nominated and approved for corporate membership as provided in the Rules of the Victorian Municipal Building Surveyors Group Incorporated and is able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Committee a professional interest in the purposes of the Association, is eligible to be a corporate member of the Association on payment of the entrance fee and annual subscription payable under these Rules.

Becoming a Member

• Nomination for Member, Associate Member or Corporate Member shall be made in writing by completing Nomination for Member, Nomination for Associate Member or Nomination for Corporate Member. Download

• A person being a member and municipal building surveyor must propose nominations, the Register provides contacts of Members.

• Nominations are to be lodged with the Secretary of the Victorian Municipal Building Surveyors Group Inc.

• The Secretary of the Victorian Municipal Building Surveyors Group Inc. will then refer the Nomination to the Committee for determination.

• Where the nomination is approved, payment of the first years Annual Subscription will be requested.

• On receipt of the payment, the name and other details of the nominee will be entered onto the Register of members and he, she or it is then advised that they are a member or associate member of the Association.
