Firefighter perspective:
I have been involved in a number of house fires from the perspective of a firefighter. There is no specific requirements from the CFA to contact council across the state. Some individual brigades do notify the council, but that is at the discretion of the incident controller or brigade captain.
In some districts the RDO (Rostered Duty Officer) will contact council for such events, again at their discretion.
Sometimes the extent of fire damage may not require notification, small kitchen fires. It is an imprecise science, not documented, dependant on local brigade knowledge.
Any consolidation of these requirements and documentation to be sent to CFA and MFB brigades would be useful, especially for events such as car impacts and storm damage.
